Great Taste Awards 2010

Our philosophy is simple – a biscuit should taste as good as it looks, so we are delighted to announce Little Rose Bakery has won 2 coveted 3 Gold Stars at the 2010 Great Taste Awards for our Hampshire Malt and Ploughman’s Biscuits for cheese, and 1 Gold Star for Fortnum’s Gorgeous Gingerbread.

We were delighted  to also win a Major Award at the Great Taste Finals held at Fortnum & Mason on September 6th 2010, Best First Time Entrant awarded  for our overall performance in the competition.

  About Little Rose Bakery

Kate Poole set up Little Rose Bakery, an artisan bakery specialising in biscuits, in 2008 in a converted cottage in the garden of her home in Bishop’s Waltham, Hampshire.

All our biscuits are hand made and hand finished. We specialise in designing biscuits to be given as gifts for the retail, events, corporate and leisure markets.

After a successful career in brand development and marketing, Kate decided it was time to put theory into practice. We do have a range of ready to stock packs of hand made biscuits, but we also work with our clients, from recipe development through to finished product to create bespoke ranges. This bespoke service is what sets us apart

The business really took off when Fortnum & Mason asked us to develop a range of gingerbread biscuits for seasonal occasions. Since then we have established many good relationships with our clients in the hotel industry, corporate and retail sectors, and direct to individuals.

Hampshire is still very much a rural area, and we have a wealth of wonderful local produce, from eggs and dairy produce to grain, fruit, watercress and herbs. We try to incorporate as much locally supplied produce as we possibly can.

Our Hampshire Malt and Ploughman’s Biscuits contain predominantly locally sourced produce : malted barley flour, wholewheat, Lyburn cheese and the Hampshire Jam & Chutney Company jams and chutneys. Proud to be members of Hampshire Fare.
